Post Revolution settlers. "While Scotsmen were moving into Laurel Hill and Stewartsville, Williamson's Township was getting a more varied population. Sons and daughters of early settlers in upper Richmond County and Marlboro County (SC) moved into the Gibson NC area. Isaac Williamson, a veteran of the Revolution (Myrtle's oldest known ancestor), and native of Sampson County came by way of Marlboro County. Moses Parker and Giles Newton from Marlboro moved to Juniper Creek in Laurel Hill Township. A few residents left more distant counties.
