Common eForms support issues after System 21 version 02.10.xx

Eforms support for Registration Card Key-packets, Guest Folios, Express Checkout and Zip-Out Check-Out® Folios, AR Statements, AR Invoices, and Collection Letters are now included in System 21. There has been some confusion about the need for "new" chips for the roll-out. Nothing is required for users of the pre-printed Folio / Registration stock. For hotels that print the express checkout or zip out on blank paper using an eForm chip in their laser printer, SOME customers may require a new chip for that printer only and we are sending them as needed. A very few customers may need all chips replaced but most often any issues with forms other than the express checkout are NOT related to a need for chips. Please read on...

For users of the Pre-Printed Reg/Folio paper:

If you print your receipts and registration on pre-printed 8.5x11 inch stock, none of this applies to you. Please do NOT make any changes shown on this page.

For Registration Keypacket users:

After accepting an update to or completing a new installation of System 21 version 2.10.__ you may find that your Registration Key Packet Electronic Forms will not print correctly. They will pull from the wrong tray, and will not print the Hilton logo and other graphical elements of your normal form. Statements may also be affected. The folio-reciept Electronic Forms should not be affected.

Correcting this problem is easy... This is the first version of System 21 to incorporate built in support for the registration keypacket.

  1. In the System 21 Reports List, pull down the File menu and select Printer Assignments.
  2. Change the Reg key printer to the same printer driver used as the folio printer.

For Registration slips printed on plain letter paper:

Just before the release, several report definition files (folioreg.rpt, detstmt.rpt, netstmt.rpt) were damaged and there was no time to correct it before the roll out. The damage is minor but it does cause these eForms to print without the logo, lines, etc.. The Hilton support desk should be able to replace these files with the corrected versions. In extreem cases, a known good rpt file is available.

If you have any questions, concerns, or further issues, please do not hesitate to call.

Other known issues:

Express Checkout eForm stops printing

Some properties will need a new chip in the back office to support the new Express Checkout and Zip-Out Check-Out® Folios. We have examined our customer records and have sent replacement chips for the printer you use to print these forms to the properties that need them. If we didn't send one to you, it was most likely because your chips were setup recently enough that this update was anticipated. If you find that after the update your express checkouts are not printing correctly, please use the emergency pre-printed paper that we provide to all properties at no charge, call us and we will fix the problem.

Room number moves to inside flap of key packet and name is not aligned correctly:

If you have not updated to the new reg keypacket layout with the name on the front and the room number on the inside flap, you may notice that this new format is the only one supported by System 21 at this time. Electronic Forms Plus, Inc. will update your chips to the new format for the (minor) cost of the chip replacement only.

Doubletree: The new layout for the Doubletree properties is now available! As per Hilton Corp, all Doubletree properties must upgrade to the new stock prior to the release of 2.10. Please contact Electronic Forms Plus, Inc. for more information.

Room number prints upside down or backwards on inside flap

Please request the new EFPS21d.pcm file from our secure web archive by pressing the "Send" Button or by going to
http://www.efplus.com/sendhifilen.asp?version=&file=efps21d.pcm
.

Save the file to a floppy disk and then continue with the installation instructions on our web site at
http://www.efplus.com/techref/app/pms/system21/cd210/fontinst.htm

Labels for room number, check in and out dates, are double printed or some part of the label is garbled.

This problem requires replacement of the chip in the printer. We will provide that replacement at no cost. Please fax a copy of the form so that we can see what exact adjustment needs to made (Our fax number is 1-909-587-9744) and we will send the new chips asap. When you recieve the new chips, replace the existing chip following the directions on our printer page at
http://www.efplus.com/mssinst.htm and then return the old chip in the same packageing..

Registration Keypackets print to the back office or to the printer assigned as the White Paper Printer

This may be a bug in 2.10... we are investigating this further and would like to hear from you if you see this. To work around it, just change the White paper printer to the same driver as the Folio Paper Printer.
