VOL+Displaying the Volume Name

Displays a disk's volume name.

VERSION

PC-DOS 2.0+

MS-DOS equivalent: VOL (2.0+)

SYNTAX

VOL [d:]

OPTIONS

d: Specifies the disk to check.

The VOL command is used to determine the volume label given

to a disk when it was formatted.

EXAMPLE

VOL

displays the volume label entered when the disk on the current

drive was formatted. If the volume label is SCRIPTS, the message

Volume in drive C is SCRIPTS

is returned.
