It may
be easier to use a printout to complete the installation.
Backup the existing report format files and copy new e-Forms enabled report
files onto the server.
After all the workstations are ready, the final step is to upgrade the report
layout files on the server to enable e-Forms. An automated install script
is available on the CD or you may complete this section manually if you wish.
It can also be started by clicking on Start \ Run \
Browse, then pull down the look in list and click on the drive
with the CD drive icon
(). In the files
area, click on the dtkey289 or dtkey289.bat program and click
Open, then Ok. The script will search the network for the server,
verify that it holds the reports files, save the original reports in a folder
called Backup under the Reports folder, and copy the new reports
onto the server.
Manual installation steps:
From any workstation, click on Start \ Programs \ NT
Explorer.
In the left panel, scroll down and click on the plus sign in front of
Network Neighborhood.
Wait for a moment to give that time to expand, and then look for an entry
that ends in the word "SERVER". The first part of the name will probably
be the initials of your property.
Click on the plus sign in front of the server entry
and look for a "Reports" folder in the list that expands under that.
Click on Reports to open that folder
Select File / New / Folder and when the words New
Folder appear highlighted by the cursor, type in Backup and press
Enter.
In the right window find the files folioexp.rpt, foliodet.rpt,
netstmt.rpt, detstmt.rpt and folioreg.rpt. Click on
one of these files and then hold down the Ctrl (control) key and click on
the others. When these files are selected, release the Ctrl key and select
Edit / Copy from the menu.
Click on the plus sign next to the Reports folder in the left window. You
should see the Backup folder under the Reports folder. Click on the
Backup folder to open it in the right window.
Select Edit / Paste from the menu. The files
folioexp.rpt, foliodet.rpt, netstmt.rpt,
detstmt.rpt and folioreg.rpt. should appear in the right window,
by themselves. If you are asked if you want to overwrite files that already
exist, the backup has been done previously and should not be done again.
Answer No each time.
At this point, the original files from System 21 are duplicated in the Reports
\ Backup directory. If there are any problems, they can be
restored and normal operation should resume.
Scroll up in the left window until you see the drive letter of your CDROM
drive. Click on it to view the files on the EFPlus CD. If your CD is missing
or old, please stop using this page and download the files from our web site
at http://www.efplus.com/sendhifilen.asp?version=cd289\rpt\
Click on the plus sign to the left of the drive letter then on the folder
CD289 and look for a "rpt" folder in the list that expands under that.
Click on the plus sign to the left of the folder rpt and look for
a "dtregkey" folder in the list that expands under that.
Click on the folder dtregkey to open that folder.
In the right window, click on the file folioexp.rpt and then hold
down the Ctrl (control) key and click on foliodet.rpt,
netstmt.rpt, detstmt.rpt and folioreg.rpt. When these
files are selected, select Edit / Copy from the menu.
Scroll back down in the left window and click on the Reports folder
listed under the server machine. Select Edit / Paste from the
menu. You should see a dialog box asking you if you are sure that you want
to replace a file. You must answer Yes to enable e-Forms. Another
dialog will immediatly appear asking the same question for each remaining
file. You must answer Yes to enable e-Forms.
